About the BHS Band
About our Website
Our Philosophy & Mission
The Bayonne High School Band was founded in 1914
when Miss Josephine Duke expanded the BHS string
orchestra to include percussion, woodwinds, and
brass and began performing at school athletic
events. Now in 2008 our program is strong and has
become an academic part of our school with
classes in performance, music theory, and
business & technology.
Our website is made of several sections: The
Welcome page for the general public and future
band students and parents, the band members page
for our current members and parents, and our
alumni page for our BHS Band alumni. Here's a
summary of the contents of each section:
Welcome to the BHS Band - Public performance announcements, general information about the BHS Band ensembles and music classes, and staff biographies.
